AMORY — Mayor Howard Boozer is recovering from deep lacerations he received on his inside forearm in a freak accident that happened Monday evening at city hall.

Boozer was leaving work at the end of the day and the lights were off in city hall and he fell on the front inside steps, putting his arm through the glass on the front door. He walked next door to the city’s fire department where he received treatment and was transported by ambulance to Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center.

He underwent surgery on his arm and remained in the hospital overnight. He was released late Tuesday afternoon and is currently still at home recuperating.

Alderman-at-large Tommy Wilkerson presided at the city’s regular board meeting last Tuesday night in place of the mayor.

Mr. Mayor, I pray that you have a great recovery from your accident. I know that you are anxious to get back to work, give yourself time to heal. God bless you and your family.ajeeu
