AMORY – Another national retailer is coming to Amory.

Dollar Tree, a national retail chain of stores that touts $1 prices on everything, will be locating a store at the Amory Pavilion on Highway 278 west of Peebles.

Dollar Tree stores claim to be “where Middle-America” shops. The company’s stock is traded on the Nasdaq and its stores sell gift bags, party supplies, housewares, seasonal decor, candy, food, toys, health and beauty care items, gifts, stationery, books and other items.

Other Retail Changes

Also coming to Amory’s retail scene is the national pharmacy chain Walgreen’s. Its store is nearing completion at the intersection of Highway 278 and Earl Frye Boulevard.

Also announced recently is a new Sherwin Williams store that is constructing a new building on Highway 278 east of Glen Drive.

But on a negative note, Amory’s Sears store which is located in the Amory Pavilion on Highway 278 has announced that it is going out of business. It is currently liquidating its entire stock. The Sears store was a dealer-owned store that had opened in January 2008.
